Our son, Sage, was born two months early with complications from a deletion of part of the 22nd chromosome. We were quickly told he had a long road ahead of him. He was going to need several surgeries to fix his heart and connect his esophagus to his stomach. Before we could even hold him, (and still to this day) we repeated positive affirmations over and over again. They were “you are strong, you are brave, you are tough, you can do anything” After 6 long and scary months with the affirmations on repeat like a broken record we were able to take our baby boy home! I knew I wanted to share the affirmations with current NICU parents to help them through the very difficult times, when Sage turned one we decided to create goodie bags with the affirmations stamped onto a bookmark. After creating the bookmark I realized this was my life purpose- That we went through what we did for a reason. I was meant to share these affirmations to spread encouragement, support, and positivity to others and the world! Thus “Sage and Shine Studio” was born. We have created several items with these powerful affirmations. We are hopeful that they could help others remember that they too are strong, they are brave, they are tough, and they can do anything.In creating Sage and Shine we hope that we can share requests for others in need of these affirmations, and get more prayers and positive energy sent out.
